Her Excellency the First Lady Margaret Kenyatta seems to have found a haven, new work station, away from the noisy hustle and bustle of Nairobi the Capital City.

The First Lady has chosen to enjoy the tranquility of Uasin Gishu County’s Eldoret State Lodge, tucked in the outskirt of the City of Champions, a world famous athlete churner.

The hitherto largely unused lodge was refurbished early last year and overlooks the lavish Elgon View estate with Sosiani river tributary cutting through it.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has also visited the facility that was once underutilized two times since he was sworn in. Now that the First Lady is training for her Beyond Zero First Lady Half Marathon cause in Kaptagat Forest and Iten High Altitude Training Centres Uasin Gishu residents will be hosting a member of the First Family often.

Former President Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi rarely used the facility although he hails from the Rift Valley. He usually flew back to Kabarak even after attending official functions in Eldoret. But for the First Lady the lodge is a haven where she now conducts her official functions and hopefully President Kenyatta will be a regular to give her moral support.

The First Lady arrived at the lodge on Sunday and for the last four days she has spent at the facility she has been meeting local leaders after her training sessions and engaging them on matters development.

The First Lady appears to be happy training in North Rift,She has been interacting with Locals on a more personal basis while still keeping engaged on her preparation for the London Marathon. Uasin Gishu County residents welcomed the new development, saying by choosing to train and work from Eldoret State Lodge, the First Lady had shown her love for the people of Uasin Gishu.

“We are greatly honoured to be hosting the First Lady. If she continues carrying out her training and official duties at the lodge, Eldoret town business will grow due to the attention it will get,”said Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago when welcoming the First Lady.
