Uasin Gishu County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer has called for all stakeholders to be involved in the formation of the Jubilee Party.
Speaking in his office on Friday, Terer said since the party intends to bring together parties that form the current Jubilee coalition ahead of the 2017 polls, all stakeholders needed to be roped in.
“For the party to be easily accepted, all intended members must be involved in each and every aspect of its formation,” said Terer.
He challenged those tasked to form JP to be keen not to repeat mistakes that were made during the formation of the Jubilee Alliance Party(JAP) which was coldly received by the URP allied leaders.
“If we will have to transit to Jubilee Party which is intended to be a merger of more than 10 parties, then the general public targeted must be involved in its formation,” he added.
He observed that if the general public had been involved in the formation of JAP then its popularity could have been much better than it was.
He said they were ready to join JPK as it will help enhance the country’s cohesion adding that merging all the small political parties that has had ethnic connotations will help enhance unity among Kenyans.
