Uasin Gishu County Governor has been given notice to sack the county executive committee member in charge of Education, Culture, Youth affairs and Social services ,Enock Muigei, who was impeached through a motion that was moved by the county assembly on Wednesday.

The county assembly arrived at a conclusion that Muigei was not suitable to hold office, and the report for his sacking was expected to be handed to the governor before Friday.

The preliminary report observes that Muigei had failed to provide the county assembly with full and regular reports on matters relating to his docket as required by the constitution.

The report also observes that Muigei had interfered with the County Bursary Bill that was passed by the assembly by authorizing the publication of the Act with amendments without the knowledge of the county assembly.

“The CEC member abused his office and the county assembly compels the Governor to relieve him of his duties since he is not fit to hold public office,” read the report.

The report that was tabled before the house leading to the ouster of Muigei also revealed that he was incompetent and failed to provide statutory requirements to the assembly.

“While some MCAs recommended further investigations on the allegations, majority of the members recommended the CEC should be relieved of his duties,” the report read in part.

The assembly further warned that if Mandago hesitated to fire the Executive official from his position, then they would table the same in the County Assembly for the right procedures to remove the five out of office.
