Uasin Gishu County Public Service Management Executive Margaret Jepchumba Chepkwony who had been impeached by the County Assembly has been reinstated.
Chepkwony had been accused of incompetence and abuse of office and later impeached by the County Assembly. However the Liason Committee that investigated Chepkwony said she was found guilty of only one offense out of five accusations brought forward by the Assembly.
Speaking to KASS FM radio, County Assembly Majority Leader, Josphat Lowoi ,said Chepkwony had asked for forgiveness for whatever she had done wrong and the Assembly decided to give her a second chance. He said Chepkwony appeared before the committee and pledged to improve her work.
MCAs have come out saying they had no ill intention against her but all they wanted was to have effective County Executives delivering required services to the residents of Uasin Gishu County.
Governor Jackson Mandago had held a meeting with the MCAs last week where he called for a truce between the Assembly and the Executive.
While meeting some MCA’s soon after she was reinstated Chepkwony expressed her willingness to work well with them.
