Uasin Gishu County Assembly Majority Leader Josphat Lowoi has pledged that the County Assembly and the County Government will deliver on its pre-election promises to the residents of Uasin Gishu.

While acknowledging that the County Government had not performed to the expectation of wananchi Lowoi, who spoke to KASS FM Radio, said they were trying. He admitted that there were steep challenges faced by the County Government but dismissed the notion that the County Government was a failure.

He further insisted that there are lots to look forward to in the 2014/15 financial year and urged County residents to be patient and support county government’s initiatives to achieve growth and success.

He further revealed that the move to impeach County Executives came following immense pressure from the County residents. He said the MCA’s move was guided by the Constitution, which allows them to impeach non performing executives and was introduced to the house through a private member’s bill.

He said they had no other option but to obey wananchi’s decision by summoning the executives after being accused of incompetence.Lowoi further revealed the assembly had pardoned Public Service Management County Executive Margaret Chepkwony after they found her culpable of only one out of five counts. He cautioned other executives to be active and deliver to avoid the axe.

Lowoi also took issue with the Executive for not regulary consulting the Assembly saying that was putting a strain in the relationship of the two institutions.

Uasin Gishu County Government led by Governor Jackson Mandago is currently facing harsh criticism for not having undertaken any tangible development one year down the line.
