An employee at St. Luke’s Orthopaedic and Trauma Hospital has allegedly been unceremoniously sacked after displeasing Uasin Gishu County First Lady Lucy Jerono Mandago.
The hospital employee who sought anonymity for fear of further victimization is said to have lost the job in unclear circumstances just a day after a war of words ensued between them. Sources have divulged that the County’s First Lady ordered for the employee to be fired for failing to “handle her well” when she visited the hospital.
The employee allegedly did not recognise Mrs Mandago hence demanded that she follow the normal hospital processes like other wananchi a move that angered her.
However last evening a County Health official denied that Mrs Mandago had fired an employee of St Luke’s Hospital “I can confirm that no employee of St Luke’s Hospital has been fired by Mrs Mandago, she has no such powers and wonder what any such inaccurate report is meant to achieve.”
The Uasin Gishu County First Lady has been keeping a low profile and has also been absent during County Public functions since the election of Governor Jackson Mandago.
