Uasin Gishu County Leaders trooped to Kesses Shopping Centre to console area residents after a fierce fire break out.
Traders in Kesses incurred huge losses after shopping and residential houses were reduced to ashes by a fire that gutted down the market last night.
The fire which began at around midnight consumed sections of the shopping centre with
the most affected areas being the building housing the area cereals depot.
Property worth thousands went up in flames as residents tried to contain the fire when an entire retail section and residentials had been burnt down.
The area police boss confirmed the incident saying that one person was reported dead and others sustained minor injuries.
Kapseret MP Oscar sudy led other County leaders who included Uasin Gishu Senator Isaac Melly,County Assembly Speaker Isaac Terer,Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno,Megun MCA Peter Sugut and area MCA Hillary Mutai in visiting the tragedy site.
Sudy gave out a personal contribution of Kshs 100 thousand while Senator Melly contributed Kshs 20 thousand. The leaders further promised to attend a fundraiser scheduled for tommorrow to assist the affected.
Area MP James Bett who had sent a representative,since he was in Nairobi, said he would preside over the fundraiser tommorrow.
