Mystery surrounds the disappearance of a former witness in the case against Deputy President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court.(ICC) in Kilifi.
Jonah Kipngetich Buret fled from his native home Beshabor in Uasin Gishu county and was living in Kilifi before he disappeared.
His family now suspects that he might have been kidnapped or arrested by unknown people.
Buret, a former PNU activist, was forced to flee from his home in Beshabor village after being attacked by neighbours despite having withdrawn from the case facing Deputy President William Ruto at the ICC.
In December last year, speaking to journalists, he indicated that he had withdrawn his co-operation with the ICC on April 5, 2013 but was later on quoted saying he was willing to return to the ICC witness programme and accused the Government of failing to protect him.
