While in Kesses on several occasions, Mediheal Group of Hospitals Director Dr Swarrup Mishra has floated the idea of a Parliamentary bid in 2017, even attending Fundraising, a rite of passage for any parliamentary contender.
At a fundraising in Lelmolok,Kesses Constituency, where he had accompanied Senator Isaac Melly,Dr Mishra told supporters he was “exploring a possible run” and indicated to reporters that he’s interested in seeing how voters in Kesses feel about him.
“I’m going to be coming out more often to try to determine whether there’s an interest in my brand of leadership,” Dr Mishra told the Eldoret Post on Saturday.
“I want to get an indication of whether there’s even an interest, in Kesses Constituency and throughout the county, if there’s room for a bi-partisan problem solver,” Dr Mishra added. “It’s 2014, I think it’s premature, but I’m curious There’s a lot of good name recognition for me in the county – that’s pretty good.”
Dr Mishra has toyed around with pursuing political office from late last year. He has expressed interest in running for the Kesses parliamentary seat though he is also said to be considering a run for even a higher seat.
Dr Mishra has cast a wide net to keep his name in the political spotlight, but what remains unclear is how serious he is about seeking political office in 2017.
