With just one month left before ODM holds its national party elections David Lagat Songok has been the latest to join the race after declaring his interest in the deputy party leader position.

Songok contested Turbo’s parliamentary seat in last years general elections on an ODM ticket and came second polling 8,880 votes against URP’s Elisha Busienei who polled 20,085 votes.

He is contesting for the deputy party leaders position against Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

Songok had earlier shown interest for the party leaders position but later opted for the deputy party leaders post.
