A new paper for the County of Uasin Gishu will appear on the streets tommorow. The Champion was unveiled to advertisers and marketers at the County Hall on Thursday 28th November and presided over by the Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago and members of public.
The launch of the new English
language Newspaper for the city of Champions dwellers covers interesting aspects of life in the town, including County Hall news, crime and courts,business, entertainment and sports.
It also offers a diverse range of business and leisure information to make life easier and more enjoyable in the county of Uasin Gishu.
According to the Chairman County Public Service Board Joseph Tanui, The Champion is a response to the growth of a news market created by devolution and
seeks to benefit from the county’s robust agricultural sector, which produces nearly 60 per cent of the country’s Food capacity.
“It will provide information through
advertising in the county to enable
readers make practical decisions,
such as advertised job vacancies.
Governor Mandago said that his leadership would use the newspaper to reach every mwananchi within the county. He also added that his government would practise zero tolerance to corruption.
The Champion,which will be produced monthly, targets a core readership of county dwellers aged between 22–55 year whose economic and social life is county-based.
