Uasin Gishu Branded Hostile Zone after Ejection of British Diplomats

Uasin Gishu County: Kenya’s Foreign ministry has warned foreign diplomats against travelling to Uasin Gishu following the recent ejection of British Diplomats from an Eldoret Hotel by Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno.

In a statement made on Friday, the ministry warned that travelling to Uasin gishu may be dangerous.“The Foreign Ministry recommends Diplomats and foreign visitors to take into account these circumstances when making decisions on visits to Uasin gishu in the near future and seek clearance from the ministry first,” read the statement.

Its has also emerged that the British High Commission ignored warnings by the government not to travel to Eldoret , Uasin Gishu county where the British diplomats were ejected by county deputy governor on Thursday.

Foreign Affairs ministry Permanent Secretary, Karanja Kibicho says he advised British High Commissioner to Kenya,Dr.Christian Turner against going to Eldoret given the hostility on the ground over ICC
cases .
