The Uasin Gishu county government
has been forced to hire extra offices
to accommodate staff.
Departments of the Eldoret
Municipal Council have been
relocated to the new offices hired at
the 7th floor of the Kerio Valley
The staff in the Engineering and
Social Services and Planning have
been moved to the new offices at
KVDA which is adjacent to the
Eldoret Municipal Council.
The council offices are now the
official headquarters of the county.
The offices are being repaired to
create more space for the governor
and his cabinet.
“We do not have enough offices at
the council and that is why we have
moved some staff to KVDA so as to
create more space for county
officials,” Phillip Melly said

Meanwhile, Mandago’s cabinet is yet
to be approved by the county
assembly which rejected it on the
grounds that it is not balanced.
The governor planned to return the
names to the county assembly so
that they are discussed again.
“We are waiting for the list to come
back so that we can consider it,”

initially appointed cabinet members
from one community made changes
and included two women from other
communities in the region.
