Uasin Gishu County governor Jackson Mandago is set to release the names of County executive nominees with minimal changes from the initial list that was rejectected by Members of County Assemby.
The only change witnessed from the list forwarded to us from our source in the governors office is in Agriculture, where Edwin Sawe has been dropped and replaced with Mrs Naomy Olore.
The other two dockets that had no nominees were Lands and Environment which have led the appointment of Robert Ngisirei and Mrs Mary Wanjiku respectively.
This follows allegations of intimidations of MCA’s that they must endorse the list as it is. An MCA who sought anonymity said,”The governor seems keen to have his cronies sit in that executive committee at all costs,I have reports indicating some of my colleagues may have been compromised with promises of being given the chance to appoint Ward administrators.”
“Those of us who were against the list have been threatened with unspecified consequences,” added another.
There have been allegations from the governors’ office that Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudy had a hand in the MCA’s rejection of the list in it’s initial state. This claims have however been denied by MCA’s with Kapsaret Member of County Assembly Pauline Tuwei refuting claims that they were working for someone.
This is the list forwarded to us from the governors office:
