Uasin Gishu County Deputy Governor Daniel Kiprotich Chemno, was last week rushed
to hospital where his condition is
“serious but stable”, the Governors’ office said.

The 39-year-old former scholar is receiving hospital
treatment for a condition that doctors couldn’t tell our reporters citing patient confidentiality but a family member disclosed to us that it was a blood vessel disorder.

“During the past few days Deputy Governor has had health problems. Last
week his
condition deteriorated and he was
admitted to St. Luke hospital,”
said the family member who sought anonimity due to the sensitivity of the matter.

“He is now in a
stable condition,” he said.

A statement from one of his confidants said Chemno was
receiving expert medical care and
“doctors are doing everything
possible to make him better and
stable.”

“Governor Mandago, on behalf of Uasin Gishu government and the County, have wished Chemno a speedy recovery,” he added, requesting the media and the
public to respect the privacy of Mr. Chemno and his family.

Chemno is serving as first Deputy Governor under the new constitution and is widely
regarded as a quite and reserved person who evades controversy unlike the outspoken Governor.
