Jonathan Birgen “Engine” to Vie Kesses Parliamentary Seat on a NARC Ticket

Jonathan Birgen popularly known as “Engine” will
now run for the Kesses Parliamentary post on Charity Ngilu’s NARC ticket.

Birgen’s name was in the list
of candidates submitted by
Charity Ngilu’s NARC to the
Independent Electoral and
Boundaries Commission (IEBC)
Wednesday.

He lost United Republican Party
(URP) primaries to former
Government Printers Employee James Bett
after which he joined NARC
Mr Bett polled 7300 votes
against Mr Birgen’s 956
votes, according to contested
results released by the party.

Mr Birgen is said to have lodged a complaint
against Mr Bett but the
dispute is yet to be resolved.

A NARC national official said Mr
Birgen joined the party on
January 18, the day the URP
nominations were held.
